Private & Public Channels

Calls within Team can be joined by anyone on the Team unless private. Calls within Channel can be joined by any member of the channel. Recordings for one on one calls are available to participants only while recordings in channels are available to all channel members even if they did not participate.

Public Channels

Public channels and are visible and accessible to all on your team. Public channel can be converted into a private channel but a private channel cannot ever be converted into a public channel.

Private Channels

For sensitive or confidential collaborations, you can use private channels. All conversations, texts, media, recordings based on voice and video conferences are kept within a private channel. Only team members who are invited can view the channel and it's contents.

Private channels create focused spaces based on a specific topic or a department within your team. These are need to know channels accessible and visible only to a group of people that is a subset of your team. Only members of a private channel can see the channel itself and its content. New members need to be invited by one of the existing members of a private channel to participate in a channel activity. For example, a private channel would be setup if a subset of people on your team want to discuss sensitive topics such as budget, human resources, strategic direction, etc. All conversations, texts, media, recordings based on voice and video conferences are kept within a private channel.
